India: SC asks Ramdev to place original record of his statement on allopathy

New Delhi, Jun 30 (PTI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked Baba Ramdev to place before it the original record of his statement on the use of allopathic medicine during COVID-19 pandemic.

What is the original thing which he has said? You have not placed the whole thing, a bench headed by Chief Justice N V Ramana asked senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who was appearing for the yoga guru.

Rohatgi told the bench, also comprising Justices A S Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy, that he would file the original video along with the transcript.

India: Atishi says she has been served IT notice over 2020 affidavit, slams BJP for 'hollow threats'

New Delhi, Jun 30 (PTI) Aam Aadmi Party MLA Atishi Wednesday said she has been served an Income Tax Department notice over her 2020 election affidavit declaration, and attacked the BJP and the Central government for "such hollow threats".

Her party also came out in her defence, terming the notice "ridiculous" and saying it exposes the "sexist and chauvinist" face of the BJP.

India: Two held in Dwarka honour killing case

New Delhi, Jun 30 (PTI) Two men were arrested for allegedly killing a man and injuring his wife in a suspected honour killing case at Dwarka a week ago, police said on Wednesday.

The accused were identified as Rohit Dahiya alias Vicky (22) and Ritik (22), both residents of Sonipat in Haryana, they said.

At around 9 pm on June 24, police received information regarding shots fired at Ambarhai village in Dwarka.

India: Minor girl gang-raped in UP's Sultanpur

Sultanpur, Jun 30 (PTI) Three people have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur district, police said on Wednesday.

On Tuesday night, a luxury bus was stopped for checking. During a search of the vehicle, three children, including two girls, were found under the last seat, Circle Officer of Baldirai Rajaram Chaudhary said.

During interrogation, it was learnt that three people had allegedly raped one of the girls, who is 15 years old, he said.

India: Delhi riots: Court grants bail to 7 murder accused

New Delhi, Jun 30 (PTI) A court here on Wednesday granted bail to seven accused in a murder case related to the north-east Delhi violence, saying they cannot be incarcerated till the conclusion of trial which is likely to be delayed due to the COVID pandemic.

The case pertains to alleged murder of one Vinod Kumar in Delhi's Brahmpuri area during the communal riots on February 24 last year.

In all, 12 persons are accused in the case.

India: Antifungal injections are out of stock at LLR hospital in Kanpur

Kanpur: Patients suffering from black fungus in Lala Lajpat Rai hospital can't have injections as these are out of stock for the past three days. Medicines like amphotericin injection and posaconazole capsule are out of stock at the hospital's store.

As many as 40 patients are admitted for treatment in the Medical College hospital. 

It is said that a total of about 250 injections were  earlier issued for treating the patients of black fungus at the hospital so far. 

India: Palghar mob lynching case: 14 accused get bail

Thane, Jun 29 (PTI) The district court in Thane on Tuesday granted bail to 14 accused arrested in connection with the lynching of two sadhus by a mob in Palghar district of Maharashtra in April 2020.

Additional sessions court (special designated court) judge RS Gupta rejected the bail applications of 18 other accused, counsel Amrut Adhikari said.

The court posted the next date of hearing on July 30 when charges are expected to be framed.

India: NIA takes over probe in Jammu airport drone attack

New Delhi/Jammu, Jun 29 (PTI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Tuesday took over the charge of investigation into the recent drone attack on the Indian Force station located at the Jammu airport, an official said.

The decision to hand over the probe into the first-of-its-kind terror attack at the Indian Air Force station in the early hours of Sunday was taken by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

In pursuance of the Home Ministry order, the NIA said it has re-registered the case of Police Station Satwari dated June 27.
