Netanyahu promises to never recognise Palestine state, Likud MK says

17 June 2020; MEMO: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he would never recognise a Palestinian state, senior Likud MK Miki Zohar revealed yesterday.

According to the Times of Israel, Zohar tweeted: “The prime minister announced yesterday [Monday] at the faction meeting that in no constellation will the government or the Knesset recognise the principle of establishing a Palestinian state.”

Netanyahu, according to Zohar, stressed: “We will never recognise a Palestinian state!”

India: 2 Railway Protection Force constables held for raping teen

New Delhi, Jun 16 (PTI) Two Railway Protection Force constables were arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

The teenager, who used to work as a domestic help in east Delhi, left the house on Friday and reached the New Delhi Railway station to go back to her home in Ranchi, according to the police.

She was allegedly lured by the two RPF personnel on the pretext of helping her to board a train to Jharkhand, police said.

Chinese Envoy Asks U.S. To Lift Unilateral Sanctions On Syria

UNITED NATIONS, June 17 (NNN-XINHUA) – A Chinese envoy asked the United States to immediately lift unilateral sanctions against Syria.

Years of economic blockade have caused tremendous hardships on the Syrian people, in particular women and children. The sufferings caused by the devaluation of the Syrian currency and soaring commodities prices, including food prices, fall heavily on civilians across the country, said Zhang Jun, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations.

Palestine Accuses Netanyahu Of Misleading World On Annexation Plan

RAMALLAH, June 17 (NNN-WAFA) – The Palestinian Foreign Ministry, accused Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, of misleading the world, regarding his government’s plan, to annex Palestinian lands.

“Netanyahu is trying to mislead the world’s public opinion, and the international officials, to facilitate the process of marketing his planned annexation of parts of the West Bank,” the ministry said.

“He wants to soften international reactions and positions, and dismantle international consensus that clearly rejects the annexation plan.”

UN: 50,000 children could die in MENA due to disruption of health services

Israel to dispatch head of spying agency to ask Arab countries to accept annexation

16 June 2020; MEMO: Chief of Israeli Mossad, Yossi Cohen, is set to visit Arab countries to persuade them to accept the planned annexation of the occupied West Bank, Al-Rai Al-Youm reported yesterday.

Quoting Israeli TV Channel 11, the Arabic paper said Cohen would visit both Arab countries with and those that do not have relations with Israel in order to discuss the plan which Israel is set to put into place next month.

India: 3.75 lakh migrant workers have returned to Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jun 16 (PTI) Nearly 3.75 lakh migrant workers and others from Chhattisgarh, who were stranded in various parts of the country due to the lockdown, have returned to their home state so far, a government official said on Tuesday.

Of these, 1,06,928 migrant workers returned by 78 Shramik Special trains, the others returned by various other modes of transport and some even walked back home, he said.

The first Shramik Special train arrived in the state on May 10.

EU FMs Raise Concern Over Israel’s Plan To Annex West Bank, In Video-Call With Pompeo

BRUSSELS, June 16 (NNN-XINHUA) – Foreign ministers of the European Union (EU), voiced concerns over Israel’s plan to annex the West Bank, at a video conference Monday, with U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, who “has not accepted or refused anything.”

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said, the move could affect the prospects of a two-state solution and regional stability.
