TEHRAN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that he had "productive" talks with the Turkish officials during his one-day trip to Istanbul on Monday.
"Productive talks with my friend @MevlutCavusoglu & other senior officials in Istanbul," Zarif tweeted.
The Iranian foreign minister hailed "in-depth exchange and fruitful decisions on bilateral cooperation, and also regional and global issues."
He also stressed close consultations between the two countries.
Zarif arrived in Istanbul on Sunday for talks on bilateral relations and international issues.
He is scheduled to fly to Moscow on Monday to review mutual and international issues with the Russian officials.
Zarif's visit to Turkey and Russia would be his second diplomatic trip after a recent slowdown in the COVID-19 epidemic.
Zarif visited Syria last month and discussed cooperation amid the impacts of the coronavirus and mounting western sanction pressure on Syria.
