Tehran, June 9, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a message referred to his talks with UN envoys on Afghanistan and Yemen here in Tehran, saying, "Iran seeks regional peace and stability."
"Fruitful talks with UNSG SRs on Afghanistan, Mr. Arnault, and on Yemen, Mr. Griffiths," Zarif wrote in his Twitter account on Wednesday.
"Key theme: Peace processes must be owned by all Afghans and Yemenis—without external imposition," he added.
"Important common denominator: Iran seeks regional peace and stability. Ready to facilitate," he reiterated.
In his meeting with UN Secretary-General's envoy on Afghanistan Jean Arnault, Zarif elaborated on Iran's views regarding peace and security in Afghanistan. He also stressed Iran's supports for intra-Afghan talks.
Meanwhile in a separate meeting with Marin Griffiths, Zarif stressed that war is not a solution to Yemeni crisis.
He emphasized that Yemeni crisis will only be solved through political and peaceful negotiations.
