MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/: Russia confirmed 21,042 COVID-19 cases over the past day, bringing the total caseload to 5,514,599, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Wednesday.
The number of cases increased by 0.38% in relative terms.
Moscow confirmed 5,823 COVID-19 cases over the past day. Some 2,583 cases were recorded in the Moscow Region, 1,503 in St. Petersburg, 358 in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 324 in the Bryansk Region and 321 in the Republic of Buryatia.
Currently, as many as 378,992 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Russia.
Moscow daily cases
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Moscow grew by 5,823 in the past 24 hours reaching 1,358,215, this is the lowest number in the past two weeks.
According to the crisis center, the relative growth rate stands at 0.43%. The Russian capital reported 6,209 new cases a day earlier.
Moscow recorded 117 COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, compared to 121 fatalities reported a day earlier, their total number has reached 22,448, as follows from the data provided by the crisis center.
Meanwhile, another 5,574 patients recovered in the past 24 hours, with recoveries rising to 1,158,719. Currently, 177,048 people in Moscow are still undergoing treatment.
Patients' deaths
Russia’s coronavirus fatalities grew by 669 in the past 24 hours compared to 652 deaths confirmed a day earlier, this is the highest number since the start of the pandemic. As many as 135,214 people have died nationwide so far.
The relative fatality rate remains at 2.45%, as follows from the data provided by the crisis center.
St. Petersburg reported 111 fatalities, the Nizhny Novgorod Region — 27, the Irkutsk Region — 26, Buryatia - 22 and the Krasnodar Region — 20.
Patients' recoveries
Russia’s coronavirus recoveries grew by 16,356 in the past 24 hours, this is the highest number since February 20. As many as 5,000,393 people have recovered by now.
According to the crisis center, recoveries stand at about 90.7% of the total number of infected people.
Another 1,980 patients recovered in St. Petersburg. The Moscow Region reported 1,723 recoveries, the Voronezh Region — 278, the Sverdlovsk Region — 251 and the Omsk Region — 221.
