20 Sep 2021; MEMO: Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), Ali Al-Qaradaghi yesterday urged the Taliban government in Afghanistan to "establish a just rule".
"Dr. Al-Qaradaghi has recommended the [Afghan] government place its priority in establishing a just rule that will be a model of the Islam of justice and the Islam of mercy," IUMS said in a statement.
Earlier IUMS President, Ahmed Raissouni, Secretary-General Ali Al-Qaradaghi, and the director of IUMS Qatar branch, Muhammad Al-Yafei, a delegation from the Afghanistan political office that temporarily leads the government.
"The [Afghan] delegation was headed by Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Emirate of Afghanistan," the statement said.
During the meeting, the statement added, Raissouni offered to assist the Afghan government with the refinement of education as well as in the fields of politics and economy.
