Russia’s COVID-19 case tally grows by 4,956 over day - crisis center

MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 4,956 over the past day to 18,260,293, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

In relative terms, it reached 0.03%.

As many as 1,125 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, 55% fewer than in the previous day. The number of hospitalized patients declined in 74 regions, while in seven other regions the figure increased.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 335 over the past day against 420 a day earlier, reaching 2,765,948, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 358 over the past day against 315 a day earlier, reaching 1,524,535.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 6,200 over the past day, reaching 17,647,179, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Sunday. A day earlier 7,378 patients recovered.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll rose by 99 over the past day to 377,670, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said. A day earlier 107 COVID-19 deaths were registered.

The average mortality rate went down to 2.07%, according to the crisis center.
