India: Head constable beaten up in Lichchavi Express, one held

Kanpur: There was disarray in the pantry car of the Lichchavi Express coming from New Delhi to Kanpur when the vendors thrashed the head constable.

At the Central railway station, the GRP apprehended a vendor from Bihar and started an investigation.

Head constable Ikhlaq Khan, posted in Ghaziabad, was coming here from New Delhi on Saturday by Lichchavi Express with his daughter.

He told the GRP in Kanpur Central that the vendors and workers in the pantry car of the train were beating up a young man badly.

Forbidding them not to do so the vendors got enraged and they did not listen. On the contrary, they started yelling.

Getting into an argument with the vendors turned bad as the vendors and the workers started beating him.

As a result, he got serious injuries in the fight, somehow escaping from them, he reached his coach and informed about the incident to the relatives in Kanpur.

At his behest, the relatives informed the GRP present at Central station.

On the arrival of the Lichchavi Express at Kanpur Central, the GRP caught the accused pantry employee, Ravindra Kumar Giri, a resident of Bihar, who had identified the head constable and assaulted him.
