Kanpur: There was a heavy jam on the Ganga river bridge connecting Unnao and vehicles were stuck till Rishi Nagar towards Shuklaganj.
The daily commuters coming from Shuklaganj to Kanpur got late due to the jam. Ganga Ghat Outpost police kept trying to clear the jam and providing space to the vehicles.
In Unnao's Ganga Ghat area, the road narrowed at Balu Ghat Turn and heavy traffic led to a one kilometer long jam from New Gangapul to Rishinagar Turn on Saturday morning.
More than half a dozen e-buses, cars, tempos, loaders, e-rickshaws and two-wheelers were stuck in the jam.
From 9 in the morning to afternoon the School children were also stuck in the jam.
The narrow road of Balughat Turn remains the main reason for the jam. Every day there is a huge traffic jam here in the morning and evening. The district administration is not paying any attention to this.
Owing to the old traffic bridge being dilapidated, it is closed since April 2021 year. The traffic load of the closed bridge has also shifted this bridge, road users said.
