NEW DELHI, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- India's retail inflation eased to 5.88 percent in November, data released by the ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) showed Monday.
"The inflation based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November is 5.88 percent," said the data report. "It was 6.77 percent in October."
Food inflation has eased to 4.67 percent in November from 7.01 percent in October.
"The Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI) eased to 4.67 percent in the month of November. The CFPI in October was 7.01 percent," said the data report.
According to officials, the price data are collected from selected 1,114 urban markets and 1,181 villages covering all states through personal visits by field staff from the National Statistical Office (NSO), MoSPI on a weekly roster.
In November 2021, retail inflation was 4.91 percent while food inflation was 1.87 percent.
