NEW DELHI, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government announced on Saturday that a nuclear power plant will be set up in the northern Indian state of Haryana.
According to the government, the nuclear plant, the first in north India, will come up in Gorakhpur town of the Fatehabad district, about 150 km north of the Indian capital New Delhi.
India's union minister Jitendra Singh said the decision to set up a nuclear plant was in line with the priority to increase India's nuclear capacity, adding that a bulk of approval for the installation of 10 nuclear reactors has been given by the government.
