MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/: More than 400 people have been prosecuted as defendants for crimes committed in Ukraine since 2014, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin said at the IC board’s meeting on Friday.
"Since 2014, 2,608 cases have been initiated, including those against members of the military and political leadership of Ukraine and nationalist associations, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies. The investigation of 138 such criminal cases has already been completed and 403 persons indicted, including 188 in person. There are 118 commanders and senior officials of the Ukrainian armed forces and Defense Ministry among the defendants. Warrants for the arrest of 136 defendants were issued in absentia," Bastrykin is quoted by the press service as saying.
Bastrykin said that the ongoing investigations must be brought to the logical conclusion, indisputable evidence base put together, and all war criminals and neo-Nazis brought to justice, the IC said.
