Iran's exports at four-decade record: Pres Raisi

Tehran, IRNA – President Ebrahim Raisi says that Iran has exported over $50 billion worth of goods in the Iranian calendar year 1401 (March 20, 2022, to March 20, 2023), which was a record in the past four decades.

President Raisi made the remarks at the opening ceremony of IRAN EXPO 2023 in Tehran on Sunday.

In his remarks, the president mentioned the activation of Iranian trade offices in other countries to introduce the Islamic Republic's economic and scientific potentials.

The Iranian products are capable to compete with rivals in neighboring states and around the world, the president added.

Raisi further hailed Iran's progress in scientific and manufacturing fields, including in petrochemicals and in nuclear and defense areas and said that some 95% of Iran’s needs to medicines are currently met inside the country.

The 5th Export Potential Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRNA EXPO 2023) started in the presence of President Raisi in Tehran on Sunday and will last for four days.

The IRAN EXPO 2023 is being held with the participation of 750 domestic companies and representatives from 60 countries from around the world.
