TEHRAN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud will make a visit to Iran's capital Tehran on Saturday, the semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported Thursday.
During the visit, the top Saudi diplomat will hold talks with Iranian officials, the report said.
Earlier media reports said Saudi Arabia will likely reopen its embassy in Tehran during the minister's trip to Iran.
At a weekly press conference on Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said the ground has been prepared for the reopening of the Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran.
Iran and Saudi Arabia announced in April the resumption of diplomatic relations with immediate effect.
Saudi Arabia cut diplomatic ties with Iran in 2016 in response to the attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran after the kingdom executed a Shiite cleric.
