MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/: Russian forces carried out 39 high-precision strikes on Ukrainian military sites this week, the Russian Defense Ministry has said in a daily bulletin of the special military operation.
The military utilized high-precision weapons and drones to inflict the group strikes "on military airfield infrastructure, equipment for navigational support of flights, fuel depots and artillery ammunition, weapons and military equipment storage sites," the ministry said.
Also attacked were drone maintenance and control centers, command posts and bases of Ukrainian forces, foreign mercenaries and nationalist groups.
"All designated target were hit," the ministry said.
Here are the details of military operations that happened over the past week, according to the bulletin.
Kupyansk area
Soldiers of Russia’s battlegroup West in the Kupyansk area have repelled 53 Ukrainian attacks.
"The manpower and combat equipment of Ukraine’s 14th, 43rd, 60th, 115th mechanized brigades and the 95th Air Assault Brigade near the settlements of Sinkovka and Olshana in the Kharkov Region were hit with air strikes and artillery fire," the ministry said.
The enemy’s losses over the week were more than 355 personnel, four tanks, including two Leopard tanks, 19 armored fighting vehicles, 13 motor vehicles and 12 field artillery guns.
Krasny Liman area
"Units of Battlegroup Center, backed with aircraft and artillery forces, repelled 13 attacks by assault teams of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Krasny Liman area in the past week. In addition, troops of the 24th, 63rd and 116th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces, as well as the 12th Special Forces Brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard, were hit near Chervonaya Dibrova, Petrovskoye and Kuzmino in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
Up to 1,155 Ukrainian troops had been either killed or wounded in the area in the previous week. The enemy also lost a tank, 19 armored combat vehicles, 21 motor vehicles and seven field artillery systems.
Donetsk area
Units of the battlegroup South repelled 43 Ukrainian attacks and improved some positions in the Donetsk area.
"Units of the battlegroup South, with the support of aviation and artillery fire, improved their positions along the front line in some areas. They repelled 43 attacks by assault groups from the Ukrainian 24th mechanized brigade and 79th airborne assault brigade in the areas of the settlements of Shumy, Belogorovka and Maryinka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
Fire damage was inflicted on units of the Ukrainian 28th, 30th, 42nd and 93rd mechanized brigades and 57th motorized infantry brigade in the areas of the settlements of Kurdyumovka, Kleshcheyevka, Krasnoye and Andreyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
"Enemy losses in this area over the past period reached more than 1,610 servicemen as killed and wounded, three tanks, 17 armored fighting vehicles, a HIMARS launcher, 24 motor vehicles and 44 field artillery units," the ministry said.
South Donetsk area
Units of the battlegroup East repelled 10 attacks of the Ukrainian army.
"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the battlegroup East, aircraft and artillery inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s 58th motorized infantry, 72nd mechanized, 79th air assault brigades as well as on 127th and 128th territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Urozhainoye, Staromayorskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Priyutnoye in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.
Ukrainian losses amounted to over 670 personnel, two tanks, six armored fighting vehicles, 19 motor vehicles and 12 field artillery guns.
Zaporozhye area
"Russian forces continued active defense efforts in the Zaporozhye area, repelling six enemy attacks near Rabotino and Verborovye," the ministry said.
The enemy lost up to 390 troops as killed and wounded, as well as a tank, five armored fighting vehicles, 19 motor vehicles and 10 field artillery systems.
Russian forces also hit Ukrainian troops and equipment near Novodanilovka, Malaya Tokmachka, Nesteryanka and Novoprokopovka in the Zaporozhye Region.
Kherson area
All attempts by the enemy’s sabotage groups to land on the Dnieper’s islands and the river’s eastern bank were thwarted. Aviation and artillery strikes delivered damage to units from the 36th and 37th marine brigades near the villages of Tyaginka and Belozerka.
"As a result of actions by Russian forces in that area, the Ukrainian army lost up to 510 troops as killed and wounded, a tank, 37 vehicles, 24 boats and 20 field artillery guns," the ministry said.
Air Force and air defenses
"Over the past week, air defense forces shot down four enemy jets, namely a Su-27 fighter, two MiG-29 fighters and a Su-25 fighter jets, as well as two Mi-24 helicopters and a Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Air Force," the ministry said.
Also, an ATACMS missile, 30 HIMARS, Uragan and Olkha MLRS rockets and three JDAM precision-guided bombs as well as 259 drones were intercepted.
Since the start of the special military operation, destroyed were a total of 554 aircraft, 261 helicopters, 9,955 unmanned aerial vehicles, 442 surface-to-air missile systems, 14,251 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, as well as 1,189 multiple rocket launchers, 7,447 field artillery guns and mortars and 16,572 special military motor vehicles.
