BANGKOK, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Former Thai singer Prissana Praisaeng, or Pooky, was arrested in Bangkok for allegedly trafficking more than five kg of ketamine, police said on Tuesday.
Pooky, 40, was arrested in her rented house together with her husband, 49, on Monday.
In the raid, police found 98.3 grams of crystal meth, eight speed pills, 10 ecstasy pills, four grams of ketamine and 40 grams of marijuana, along with chemicals and equipment believed to be used to produce narcotics.
Police said the operation followed the apprehension of a man, 28, in a hotel on Monday.
The man was to buy drugs in Bangkok and the police checked his room and found the ketamine hidden in 39 ashtrays packed in the room after receiving tip-offs. The drugs were to be smuggled out of the country.
The man told police he bought drugs from the singer.
Police said the couple had been selling drugs to the dealer for more than one year. The couple was charged with producing and acquiring drugs for reselling.
