A former Shiv Sena corporator Shrikant Pangarkar provided provided “shelter” and “logistical support” to Hindutva terrorists in Mumbai.

The revelation came during Anti Terror Squad (ATS) questioning of three Hidutva terrorists Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar and Sudhanva Gondhalekar, arrested on Friday for making bombs with the intention to use it on Iduzzuha (Bakra-eid) day, to fan communal riots and hatred.

According to The Times of India, “A special Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) court in Mumbai on Monday remanded Pangarkar to police custody till August 28. He has been booked under sections 16 (terrorism),18 and 20 (conspiring against the country) of the UAPA for having links with a terror group and planning to carry out blasts in Satara, Pune, Solapur, Mumbai and Nalasopara. ATS, while seeking 15 days’ police custody, termed Pangarkar a “fund-raiser” for his associates in the case. The ATS will also investigate if Pangarkar had any role to play in rationalist Narendra Dabholkar’s 2013 murder as Kalaskar had told police during interrogation that he himself was involved in the murder.”

“The other accused have told the police it was Pangarkar who helped them assemble the explosives. Sources said that though Pangarkar had raised funds for terror activities of the module, he was still a puppet and the masterminds were at large.”, reported The Times of India.
