KANPUR: Friday evening rains not only dropped the city's minimum temperature to 14 degrees Celsius on but also made residents feel quite cold. The day remains partly cloudy on Saturday.
There were ample rains yesterday which the residents did not expect.
Just minutes after the drizzling began to start, the electricity supply was cut in several localities. It was restored only after about 7:45 p.m.
Housewives were overheard saying it was good as they were not worrying for the damp weather checked them to venture for making the potato chips.Thus they were saved from wastage. They thanked the weather God who obstructed them to begin process of chips making initiative.
The rainwater accumulated in open hollow spaces and pits and at other places where slopes were not ideal. The water remained stagnant till afternoon. As a result, there was spread enough muck on the wider roads. Even the garbage wastes were not removed from the defiled spots. This gave a very bad sight and the smell was unbearable.
