KANPUR: As people are passing the day under stay-at-home orders in order to stall the spread of coronavirus, the devout Muslims are observing the fasting with equanimity and obligation.
There is no possibility of relaxation in the lockdown so the month of Ramazan gives the opportunity to the devouts for focus on the prayers in accordance with the ordained rules. Even the youngsters were showing a strong urge to have fasting.
Two boys told they have been fasting just to test their will power. They accepted that it was not owing to parental pressure. They were following an obligatory duty prescribed by religion. Those who are not able enough to fast, they at least find time to recite the Holy Quran. Their zest during the initial days of the month is not lesser than the elders.
It is the second day of fasting on Sunday. The duration of the fasting is definitely long but it is followed by the devouts according to the prescribed norm. No water, nothing is allowed till the time Muezzin does not call azaan from the 🕌 at the exact time set for Iftaar. This time increases daily while the Sehri time decreases every day.
