Kanpur: Surge in rates of dry fruits has been noticed in the market here. Speaking on this matter, Alankar Omar, Vice president of Nayaganj dry fruits market, said, " The prices of dry fruits here have increased as imports from Afghanistan have been disrupted."
Adding his points he went on saying, "We know a bit about the crisis of that country. We import pistachio, almond, fig, dried apricots from Afghanistan. The prices have increased by almost 15-20 per cent."
Even the customers have been realising this pertinent reality and do not bother in accepting this increase that was affected within a few days.
A smart-looking person buying dry fruits at a dry fruits shop said, "I came here to buy dry fruits for my family members. The prices of these products have increased abruptly."
So long as the crisis in that country does not get resolved, the crisis will continue to persist, maintain several.
The export of dry fruits from Afghanistan seemed to be halted with the problems arising after the Taliban took control of the capital city Kabul, as the report goes.
