Kanpur: A woman belonging to the city claimed that her husband forced her to abort the child she bore with him. She added that the man, a resident of Gaya in Bihar, allegedly planned on getting married to another woman in Bihar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Aditya Kumar said woman's complaint has been given top priority. The police are making efforts to arrest the accused on the run.
The accused, identified as Y Kumar, is a Travelling ticket examiner (TTE) with the Railways. He is accused of assaulting his wife, forcing her for abortion. He has the tacit support of his family.
He is said to be marrying another woman. He is, reportedly, on the run.
According to a report, the woman met the man named Y Kumar on a train journey. The duo started dating each other. They married at a temple two years ago. After wedding, the woman realised that he was an abuser.
He allegedly assaulted her and was found involved in domestic violence on a regular basis for months.
The woman added in her complaint that the brother and brother-in-law of the accused were also involved in the alleged abortion case.
She further alleged that he fled Kanpur without informing her and is still missing.
Reportedly, getting information about Kumar planning to marry another woman in Gaya, Bihar, she approached the police for the help.
Acting on her complaint the police team was sent to his village residence at Manjhar in Gaya. But he was not found even there, as was reported
According to the woman, Kumar’s brother allegedly threatened the women of rape following the police complaint.
