Kanpur: Over the past few days the cases of respiratory virus are coming at Hallett Hospital here. This complication is rising owing to the monsoon season.
Detailing about the cases, Dr Vishal Kumar Gupta, Associate Professor, Medicine Department, Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, said the majority of patients have been suffering from flu. Such patients were advised to pursue treatment from home.
Due to monsoon season, we can see the increase in respiratory virus cases which have symptoms like high fever, cough, sore throat, cold, etc., he added.
After clinically testing, it shows that some cases are of flu virus, some are of dengue and malaria. 90 per cent of the patients suffering from flu are not in a state of critical condition, he made it clear.
He advised patients to continue treatment from home after taking medicines on the advice of doctors.
He pointed out we are ready with beds but did not miss at saying that we are making different ward for Dengue.
"I have been feeling feverish since Monday," said a patient. While another patient told,
"I have fever, cough and pain in my legs for 8-10 days.
Meanwhile, Dr Shailesh, a doctor at Hallett Hospital, maintained that most of the cases were reported of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Due to monsoon, we are seeing most cases of Viral, Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya.
We have been witnessing referral patients mostly from rural areas of Bundelkhand for viral fever. We have specially allocated ward number 10 for dengue patients, he further stated.
