Kanpur: The Income Tax Department has reportedly conducted raids at the offices of a Kanpur-based jeweller Rajender Aggarwal and recovered a huge amount of cash.
According to the information, the search operation is going on for the last twenty four hours.
The IT sources claimed that the jeweller has not given any satisfactory answer in this regard.
The IT teams reached Swaroop Nagar and his residential address at the Civil Lines area and began scanning various important papers.
Another team of the IT department conducted a search operation at his showroom at Birhana road here.

The IT officials have also recorded the testimonies of various employees of Rajender Aggarwal including him.
The team is scanning various ledgers belonging to his businesses.
There are chances that the IT team might be summoning his Chartered Accountant to question him in connection with the last three years financial transactions.
The IT team is also reported to be scanning various invoices, goods kept at the showroom.
This is in the process of estimating the alleged mismatch. It has also been counting the cash recovered so far.
As of now, the businessman has reportedly failed to show any documents regarding the huge cash, he has also failed to give a satisfactory answer.
