Jarrod Ramos 38, accused of killing four Capital Gazette journalists and a sales assistant in Annapolis, Maryland, has entered a plea of not guilty to all 23 charges against him.

Ramos’ lawyers entered the plea with the Anne Arundel county circuit court. Ramos did not appear in court. He remains jailed without bond.

According to Capital Gazette, “Ramos faces 23 different charges related to the Capital Gazette attack, including five counts of first degree murder in the killings of Gerald Fischman, Rob Hiaasen, John McNamara, Rebecca Smith and Wendi Winters — all Capital Gazette employees. Police arrested Ramos inside the Capital Gazette office at 888 Bestgate Road”

“Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney Wes Adams will prosecute the case with assistant state’s attorneys Aaron Meyers and Jason Knight. Circuit Court Judge Laura S. Kiessling, who will handle the rest of the case, has set a status conference to schedule hearings for motions and a trial. It will occur within 30 days from Monday”, reported Capital Gazette.

“In the days after the attack, the columnist and others received letters seemingly from Ramos spelling out his intentions to kill everyone present in the newsroom”, reported Capital Gazette.
