Kanpur: Stray animals roaming on the roads are increasingly becoming a cause of accidents. There were reported as many as two mishaps in Panki and Kalyanpur here. Two have lost their lives as a result.
In Panki a speeding car after losing balance collided with a tempo owing to a bull coming in front of the car.
The accident occurred near the railway Pul Turn at Panki Bhatia Tiraha.
Three passengers in the tempo got injured badly. One seriously injured passenger got admitted to a private nursing home.
Later he was referred to Hallet where he was declared dead. Panki police inspector A Kumar told that the dead person was yet to be identified.
The other two persons belonged to Rambabu r/o Udaipur village of Sachendi while Sukhbir r/o Ratanpur.
The youth sitting in the car fled away after leaving the vehicle on the spot, as reported.
In the second mishap, Vipin r/o Tatya Tope Nagar in the Barra area was returning from his would-be in-laws residence suddenly faced before two entangling cows near the Bitthoor Tiraha.
This disbalanced his bike that collided with the divider. He and his sister Laxmi were injured.
The locals got them admitted into a private hospital. Vipin was later referred to Hallet Hospital where he has reportedly collapsed.
