Pakistan Spent Nearly 450 Million USD For Flood Relief, Assistance: President

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, said yesterday that, the Pakistani government had spent almost 100 billion rupees (450 million U.S. dollars), for the relief and assistance of the flood-affected people, as relief and rehabilitation activities continue in affected areas.

Pakistan is facing one of the worst environmental disasters in the world, and millions of people have been displaced, Sharif said, at a press conference, adding that, the federal and provincial governments, as well as, other institutions are strenuously working to extend relief to the flood victims.

Blankets, tents, food packages and other items are being provided to them, he said.

China has provided great support to Pakistan, after the catastrophic floods played havoc across the country, Sharif said, adding that, not only the Chinese government but the Chinese people and companies have extended helping hands to flood victims of Pakistan.
