TEHRAN, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has destroyed a "terrorist team" in western Ilam city, Tasnim news agency reported.
"The members of the team who, during the recent riots, attempted to carry out anti-security measures such as the preparation and supply of war grenades and incendiary bombs for use in sabotage activities, were arrested during an operation in Ilam city," the report cited a statement as reading by the IRGC's base in Ilam province.
The arrested people planned to attack military and security centers with grenades and incendiary bombs, and they sought to carry out anti-security activities and form operational teams and manage riots in "connections with foreign countries," it said.
In the hiding place of the team, five hand-made bombs, one war grenade, handguns, hunting guns, a significant number of bullets and shotguns, and 255 bottles of alcoholic beverages were discovered and confiscated, the statement said, adding that three people were arrested and handed over to authorities.
