MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia grew by 4,566 in the past 24 hours compared with 5,617 on the previous day, the federal anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.
Less than 5,000 cases have been registered in the country in one day for the first time since July 19. The total number of cases in Russia since the pandemic started has reached 21,463,850.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths rose by 62 in the past 24 hours compared to 67 on the previous day, bringing the total number of fatalities to 390,588. The number of recoveries increased by 5,735 compared with 5,819 on the previous day, bringing the total number of recoveries to 20,855,333.
Situation in Moscow
The number of coronavirus patients taken to hospital in the past 24 hours amounted to 457, down from 582 on the previous day. The number of hospitalized people went up in 26 regions and decreased in 39 ones, whereas in 20 Russian regions the situation remained unchanged.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Moscow increased by 402 in the past 24 hours compared with 623 on the previous day, according to the information posted on Sunday on the government’s website, which keeps the public updated on the pandemic situation nationwide.
The total number of cases registered in the capital since the beginning of the pandemic currently stands at 3,234,943.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths rose by 13 in the past 24 hours in the city compared with 11 on the previous day, to 46,689, while the number of recoveries increased by 572 during the day to 3,044,677.
Situation in Moscow Region
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 86 in the Moscow Region in 24 hours compared with 204 on the previous day, according to the information posted on Sunday on the government’s website, which keeps the public updated on the pandemic situation nationwide.
The total number of cases registered in the region since the beginning of the pandemic equals 1,119,088.
The number of recoveries increased by 106 in the Moscow Region in the reporting period to 1,100,297, while the number of coronavirus-related deaths added four, bringing the total number of fatalities to 15,412, according to the website.
Situation in St. Petersburg
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in St. Petersburg, Russia’s second-biggest city, increased by 349 in the past 24 hours compared with 388 on the previous day, according to the information posted on Sunday on the government’s website, which keeps the public updated on the pandemic situation nationwide.
The total number of cases registered in the city since the beginning of the pandemic equals 1,788,283.
The number of recoveries rose by 367 in St. Petersburg in the past 24 hours to 1,747,845, while the number of coronavirus-related deaths added 10 to 35,844.
