ABU DHABI, Nov 17 (NNN-WAM) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE), launched here, the Global Media Congress (GMC), a platform to boost business connections and foster innovation in the media sector.
The event, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday (today), under the theme of “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry,” gathered more than 1,200 media practitioners, experts and social media influencers from across the world.
Workshops for young journalists, exhibitions showcasing media technology development and startups, as well as, in-depth discussions on the prospects for the media sector are being offered at this year’s GMC, said Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, director-general of Emirates News Agency and chairman of GMC organising committee.
Topics and issues being discussed here included human capital, innovation and investments in the media industry, digital communication, as well as, the impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary media.
