ST PETERSBURG, Russia, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The funeral of Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, who was killed in a plane crash last week, was held privately at a cemetery on the outskirts of his hometown St Petersburg, his press service said on Tuesday.

"The farewell to Yevgeny Viktorovich took place in a closed format. Those who wish to say goodbye may visit Porokhovskoye cemetery," it said in a short post on Telegram, accompanied by a photo of Prigozhin.

Russia confirms Wagner Group head Prigozhin among deaths in Wednesday’s plane crash

In a statement, Russia’s Investigative Committee said that it completed genetic identification of those who died in the private jet that crashed in the northwestern Tver region.

MOSCOW, August 28. /TASS/: The Russian Navy delivered a multiple-launch precision strike, wiping out a Ukrainian aircraft armament and ammunition site over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday.

"Last night, the Navy delivered a multiple-launch strike by seaborne long-range precision weapons against an aircraft armament and ammunition depot of the Ukrainian army," the spokesman said.

The goal of the strike was achieved. "The site was destroyed," the general stressed.

Russia: Prigozhin identified as one of victims of recent plane crash north of Moscow – authorities

MOSCOW, August 27. /TASS/: The Russian Investigative Committee said it had completed genetic examinations of the people that were killed in the recent plane crash north of Moscow, identifying all of them, including Yevgeny Prigozhin.

"As part of the investigation into the plane crash in the Tver Region, molecular genetic examinations have been completed. According to their results, the identities of all 10 victims have been established. They correspond to the list stated in the flight manifest," the agency said in a statement.

MOSCOW, August 27. /TASS/: A Russian Su-30 plane prevented border violation by a US MQ-9A Reaper drone over the Black Sea, Russia’s National Defense Management Center said on Sunday.

"On August 27, 2023, Russian air control tools detected an aerial target approaching the state border over the Black Sea. A Su-30 fighter jet from the air defense alert forces was scrambled to identify the aerial target and prevent border violation. The crew of the Russian fighter jet identified the aerial target as a US MQ-9A Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle," it said.

Russia: Ukrainian attack repelled in Kleshcheyevo area in DPR – Kadyrov

GROZNY, August 27. /TASS/: Russian forces repelled an attempted attack by Ukrainian troops in the Kleshcheyevo area in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on Sunday.

"Back to the news from the Kleshcheyevo area. <…> A new video shows the results achieved by the Akhmat special unit jointly with the soldiers <…> of the army corps under the wise command of my dear brother, General Apty Alaudinov <…>. These are the deplorable results of the Ukrainian army’s attempt to attack this morning," Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram channel.
