Pakistan strongly condemns despicable act of Holy Quran’s desecration in Netherlands

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):Pakistan on Wednesday strongly condemned the despicable act of desecration of the Holy Quran in the Netherlands on January 22, 2023.

“It is undoubtedly a provocative Islamophobic hate crime committed under the guise of freedom of expression. Such offensive acts deeply hurt the feelings of 1.5 billion Muslims around the world and can create disharmony among the international community,” the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement.

Pakistan: PM, UAE president resolve to further enhance bilateral relations

RAHIM YAR KHAN, Jan 25 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday met President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wherein the two leaders expressed their resolve to further enhance brotherly bilateral relations.

The meeting took place here as the UAE president arrived in Pakistan on a private visit, a PM Office statement said.

Pakistan: Former British secretary Straw spills beans over Gujarat’s inquiry

ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (APP): Former British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has testified to the fact that the British government had conducted an investigation on its own into 2002 Gujarat riots in India after the large-scale violence created ripples in the UK.

He said the investigation was carried out after citizens of Gujarati Muslim origin in the UK were worried about their loved ones in India and were making representations to that effect to the then Tony Blair’s government.

Pakistan: Imran’s motive was to create political rumpus in NA: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday that Imran’s motive for rejoining the National Assembly (NA) after dissolving two provincial assemblies was to create political rumpus.

Talking to a private media channel, Ahsan Iqbal said that Imran Khan does not believe in political harmony and solving political issues through dialogue.

Pakistani PM Met Russian Energy Minister On Oil, Gas Supply

ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, met with a Russian delegation, led by Energy Minister, Nikolai Shulginov, yesterday, discussing matters related to oil and gas supply.

“Both sides agreed on the importance of the energy sector, for the development of bilateral economic and trade relations. In this regard, views were exchanged on supplying oil and gas from Russia to Pakistan on a long term basis,” said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Pakistan: Russian energy minister meets PM; long-term oil, gas supply from Russia to Pakistan discussed

LAHORE, Jan 19 (APP): A delegation led by Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov on Thursday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here wherein the two sides discussed the supply of oil and gas from Russia to Pakistan on a long term basis.

During the meeting, both the sides agreed on the importance of energy sector for the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

The two sides also reviewed the  matters related to gas pipelines, a PM Office statement said. 

Pakistan: Bilawal, Spanish FM discuss bilateral, regional issues

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17 (APP): Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday met Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation Jose Manuel Albares Bueno on the sidelines of the annual meeting of World Economic Forum being held in Davos, Switzerland.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed bilateral, regional and global matters of mutual interest.

Pakistani PM hails China's great help for flood relief aid

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has appreciated China and Chinese enterprises' great help to the flood-affected people of the country.

Speaking at a meeting for donation of funds to the flood-affected people by the China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) at the Prime Minister's House here on Friday, Sharif expressed his gratitude to China for its support to Pakistan.
