TOKYO (Reuters) - The impact of the new coronavirus outbreak on global growth will be a key issue at this weekend’s meeting of G20 finance leaders, Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda said, underscoring growing concern over the fallout from the epidemic.

Kuroda said it was not yet time to discuss whether additional monetary easing was needed to prevent the virus outbreak from damaging Japan’s economic recovery.

YOKOHAMA, Japan (AP) — Hundreds of passengers began leaving the Diamond Princess cruise ship Wednesday after the end of a much-criticized, two-week quarantine that failed to stop the spread of a new virus among passengers and crew.

Results were still pending for some passengers who’ve been tested for the coronavirusthat has infected tens of thousands of people in China and more than 540 on the ship.

TOKYO, February 16. /TASS/: Confirmed 2019-nCOV coronavirus infections on board of the Diamond Princess cruise ship quarantined in Yokohama increased to 355, Health Minister of Japan Katsunobu Kato said on Sunday on the air with the NHK TV Channel.

"We tested over 1,200 individuals by now. Among them, we confirmed 355 coronavirus infection cases.

70 more infection cases were therefore found on board of the ship over the last day.

TOKYO, Feb 13 (NNN-NHK) – Nissan Motor Co., said that, the company has filed a civil lawsuit in Japan, against former boss, Carlos Ghosn, who has fled the country last year, seeking 10 billion yen (90 million U.S. dollars) in damages, for “his corrupt practices over many years.”

Nissan intensified its campaign to recover damages from the former chief. According to Nissan, the financial damages it is claiming are linked to “Ghosn’s breach of fiduciary duty as a company director, and his misappropriation of Nissan’s resources and assets.”

TOKYO (Reuters) - British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said he wants an “ambitious” trade deal with Japan, after a meeting with Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi, who asked Britain to end European Union restrictions on Japanese food imports imposed after the Fukushima nuclear disaster.

Raab met Motegi in Tokyo during his first overseas trip following Britain’s departure from the EU, and as it negotiates its future relationship with Brussels and begins free trade talks with other major economies including the United States and Japan.

TOKYO (AP) — Asian shares rose Wednesday on optimism that China’s latest actions may help curtail some of the expected economic damage from the virus outbreak.

Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 gained 1.1% to 23,330.11 in morning trading. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 added 0.3% to 6,967.20. South Korea’s Kospi was up 0.5% at 2,169.29. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng edged up nearly 0.9% to 26,910.45, while the Shanghai Composite jumped nearly 2.0% to 2,836.68.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japanese authorities on Thursday issued arrest warrants for a former U.S. special forces soldier and two other men on suspicion of smuggling former Nissan Motor Co boss Carlos Ghosn out of Japan.

Warrants were issued for former U.S. Green Beret Michael Taylor and two other men, George-Antoine Zayek and Peter Taylor, prosecutors said in a statement. A warrant was also issued for Ghosn for illegally leaving the country, prosecutors said.

Tokyo, Jan 28 (AFP/PTI) Japan will send a plane to the Chinese city of Wuhan later Tuesday to begin evacuating citizens from the centre of a deadly virus outbreak, the country's foreign minister said.

"We have finalised arrangements, and the Chinese side has communicated to us that it is now ready to accept one chartered flight. Arrangements have been made to secure transportation to the airport," Toshimitsu Motegi told reporters.
