Foreign forces used YouTube to manipulate protesters in Moscow - senator

MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/: Foreign forces used YouTube video hosting during the August 10 authorized rally on Moscow’s Sakharov Avenue in order to manipulate Russian citizens, encouraging them to violate law, the chairman of the Federation Council’s temporary commission for the protection of state sovereignty and prevention of interference in Russia’s internal affairs, Andrei Klimov, said in a statement.

(Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has given support to the police’s “stop-and-search powers” and also pledged to create “another 10,000 spaces” in UK prisons.

Dead person found after Mosque shooting near Oslo, Norvey

OSLO, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- A dead person was found after the Mosque shooting outside Oslo on Saturday, and it was being investigated in related to the shooting incident, police said late Saturday.

Norwegian public broadcasting company NRK quoted police as saying the area where the dead man was found was blocked off in Baerum, just west of Oslo.

"In the house we have found a dead person whom we put in connection with the case", which happened earlier in Skui, a district in Baerum, said Brian Skotnes of Oslo police.

Earthquake of 5.4 magnitude rocks Russia's Far East

MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/: An earthquake of 5.4 magnitude has rocked the eastern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia's Far East, US Geological Survey reported on Saturday.

The earthquake's epicenter lay in 50 km to the south-west of the Ust-Kamchatsk settlement (population of around 4,000 people) at the depth of 43 km.

No injuries or damages were reported.

Organizers of Moscow rally file statement on impending provocations with police

MOSCOW, August 10. / TASS /: The organizers of an authorized rally in Moscow have approached the police department with information about impending provocations at the gathering on Saturday, the Moscow police press service informed TASS.

"The organizers of the rally on Sakharov Avenue approached the staff of the Moscow Police department with a statement that Lyubov Sobol and other participants in the rally were going to stage provocations during the event," the source said.

Unregistered candidate for Moscow City Duma Lyubov Sobol detained in Moscow

MOSCOW, August 10. / TASS /: Unregistered candidate for Moscow City Duma Lyubov Sobol was detained in Moscow, by the law enforcement authorities, the head of the human rights organization "Agora" Pavel Chikov told reporters on Saturday.

The organization's lawyer is providing legal counsel to Sobol.

"In Lyubov Sobol was detained," he said. Chikov also confirmed for TASS that police came to their client's apartment, but did not give any other information.

Firefighters combating wildfires on over 228,000 hectares in Russian regions

MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/: The Aerial Forest Protection Service and regional forestry services have extinguished 41 wildfires on the territory of over 23,000 hectares in Russian regions in the last 24 hours.

"According to regional forestries, 41 wildfires were extinguished on the territory of 23,676 hectares on August 9. As of 12am Moscow time on August 10, 219 wildfires are registered in Russia on the territory of 228,840 hectares, with active firefighting efforts underway," the press service of the Aerial Forest Protection Service said.
