Russia’s daily COVID-19 cases surge by almost 7,700 — crisis center

MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 7,681 over the past day to 18,167,281, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Thursday.

In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.04%.

As many as 2,596 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 13% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients decreased in 47 regions, while in 28 regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in ten regions. A day earlier, 2,986 people were rushed to hospitals.

MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/: Russian air pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who on Wednesday was exchanged for convicted US citizen Trevor Reed, has told the daily Izvestia that he and other convicts suffered from human rights abuse in the United States’ Danbury prison.

"Up to 8-10 convicts are kept in each cell. The Danbury prison was built in 1939. Each cell was meant to accommodate 33-34 convicts. Now there are 80-100 of them. Moreover, no sanitary norms are observed. They accuse us of violations of human rights and rights of convicts. There we had iron beds. No pillows were allowed."

ST. PETERSBURG, April 28. /TASS/: The number of countries confirming participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2022 reached 69 and applications continue coming, Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov said during the annual report to the legislative assembly.

"I would like to inform: 69 countries confirmed participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in this June. Applications continue coming as well. The economic forum will take place," Beglov said.

West encouraging Kiev to attack Russia with NATO-supplied weapons, says diplomat

MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/: Western countries are openly calling on Ukraine to attack Russian territory using the weapons they supply to Kiev, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.

"We have already commented the other day on statements by British Deputy Defense Minister [James] Heappey about okaying Ukraine's strikes on Russian military targets," she said, "In other words, the West is openly calling on Kiev to attack Russia, even with weapons received from NATO countries."

Russia: SkyTeam suspends Aeroflot’s membership in alliance

MOSCOW, April 27. /TASS/: SkyTeam airline alliance announced suspension of membership of Russian airline Aeroflot. This is according to a press release published on the website of the alliance on Wednesday.

"SkyTeam and Aeroflot have agreed to temporarily suspend the airline's SkyTeam membership. We are working to limit the impact for customers and will inform those affected by any changes to SkyTeam benefits and services," the alliance said.

In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.04%.

As many as 2,986 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 5.54% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients decreased in 44 regions, while in 36 regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in five regions. A day earlier, 3,161 people were rushed to hospitals.

The reported intrusions - some of which have not been previously disclosed - suggest that hacking has played a bigger role in the conflict than what has been publicly known.

In absolute terms, the growth rate was the lowest since September 24, 2020. In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.04%.
