Russia’s coronavirus cases near 450,000

MOSCOW, June 5. /TASS/: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia rose by 8,726 to 449,834 in the past 24 hours, the anti-coronavirus crisis center said on Friday.

According to the crisis center, the country’s daily coronavirus growth rate has for the first time fallen below 2%, to 1.98%.

Another 762 cases have been recorded in the Moscow region, 378 in St. Petersburg, 330 in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 251 in the Sverdlovsk region and 196 in the Rostov region.

There are currently 231,626 active cases in the country.

US plane with 150 donated ventilators lands in Russia

MOSCOW, June 5 (NNN-AGENCIES) — A US military plane carrying 150 donated ventilators to help coronavirus patients landed in Moscow on Thursday in the second such delivery to Russia, the US embassy said.

The plane brought the number of US-manufactured ventilators sent by the United States to Russia to 200, after the first delivery arrived two weeks ago.

US ambassador John Sullivan was at Vnukovo airport to meet the plane along with a representative of the Moscow hospital that will distribute the ventilators.

Russia: Launch pad for Angara rocket to be sent to Vostochny next month

MOSCOW, June 4. /TASS/: A launch pad for Russia’s advanced Angara Rocket will be sent to the Vostochny space center in Russia’s Far East in July via the Northern Sea Route, the Center For Operation Of Ground Based Space Infrastructure (TsENKI) said in a video uploaded to YouTube.

"Already in July, the Barents cargo ship, carrying the launch pad will embark upon its journey along the Northern Sea Route," the video says.

Russia rejects claims it was behind cyberattack on Bundestag in 2015 — diplomat

MOSCOW, June 4./TASS/: Russia flatly rejects accusations hurled at it for an alleged involvement in a hacker attack on Germany’s Bundestag in 2015, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.

"We strongly reject Germany’s proofless allegations about the involvement of Russian government entities in a hacker attack on the German Bundestag in 2015," she said.

According to the diplomat, Russia is ready to look into the data obtained by Germany from the US regarding a cyberattack on the Bundestag in 2015, if it does exist.

Russia, Saudi Arabia agree to extend May oil cuts for one month, says source

MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/: Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to extend the maximum level of production within the OPEC+ by at least one month. Future plans will depend on the market situation, a source participating in the negotiations told TASS.

"We have agreed that it is necessary to extend it for at least a month. Then we will look at the situation," the source said. The countries’ ministries have not officially commented on the information.

Russia: Putin agrees to declare national emergency over oil spill in Norilsk

NOVO-OGARYOVO, June 3. /TASS/: Russian President Vladimir Putin thinks it necessary to declare a federal emergency in the Krasnoyarsk Region over an oil spill.

At the Wednesday meeting devoted to the diesel fuel spill in the eastern Siberian region of Krasnoyarsk, Emergencies Minister Yevgeny Zinichev called for the situation to be declared a federal emergency.

"I agree with your proposal to declare an emergency," Putin responded.

Cats exhibit cold-like symptoms when infected with coronavirus - Russian federal service

MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/: Cats exhibit cold-like symptoms, such as runny nose, fever and cough, when infected with the novel coronavirus, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision informed on Wednesday.

"According to the information published on the website of the World Organization for Animal Health, cats (both domestic and wild cats) and minks often exhibit clinical symptoms of an acute respiratory infection. Namely, the animals exhibit such symptoms as high fever, cough, sneezing, discharge from nose and eyes," the message informs.
