MOSCOW, September 25. /TASS/: Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev held Russian-Omani security consultations while visiting Muscat.
"A detailed discussion of prospects for the Russian-Omani relationship and cooperation in information security, as well as interaction between [the two countries’] law enforcement agencies, special services and financial intelligence was held," the Russian Security Council said. "In addition, the implementation of some economic projects was discussed," it noted.
The Russian side was also represented by Interior Ministry and Foreign Ministry officials, Federal Security Service (FSB) and Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) officers as well as representatives of the Russian financial watchdog, Rosfinmonitoring.
Patrushev also discussed "a wide range of issues related to the Russian-Omani cooperation across the board" with Minister of the Royal Office of Oman Sultan al Nua’mani at separate talks. Also, the top Russian security official met with Secretary-General of the Omani National Security Council Idris Al Kindi.
Following the talks, a memorandum on cooperation was signed between the Russian Security Council and the Secretariat of Oman’s National Security Council.
