The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) yesterday raised its travel warning level for Israel and the occupied Palestinian Territories due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, Anadolu news agency reported.
The CDC said it was concerned about the rising number of coronavirus cases in Israel, the occupied West Bank and besieged Gaza, raising its travel health notice to "Level 3: High".
The Level 3 rating states that unvaccinated travellers should avoid nonessential travel to the concerned countries and is one level below the CDC's most severe travel rating.
Israel's Ministry of Health reported 2,215 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, bringing the tally of infections in the country to 862,559. The death toll from the virus rose by one to 6,461, while the number of patients in serious condition rose from 101 to 121.
