Kanpur: The mentally challenged youth locked the parcel vehicle door of the New Delhi-bound Swarna Shatabdi Express. It stood for one hour and five minutes at Kanpur Central station.
The mentally challenged youth locked the parcel vehicle door and did not easily come out. During this, the passengers created a ruckus.
Later, the GRP and railway personnel cut the gate and brought down the mentally deranged youth.
The Swarna Shatabdi Express going to New Delhi via Kanpur via Lucknow had arrived at Kanpur Central station on its scheduled time on Monday.
When the bogie was opened to keep the parcel, a mentally challenged person entered into the compartment.
When it was time for the train to leave, the guard tried to alight him but he did not come down.
After a long exercise of about one hour and five minutes, the gate of the parcel bogie was cut by using a chisel-hammer.
Thus the parcel box was opened somehow by putting hands on the lock of the door. The deranged person was evicted.
Deputy CTM Ashutosh Singh said that the matter has been conveyed to the higher authorities. The deranged person has been reportedly handed over either to the RPF or the GRP.
Only after that the train could depart. During this, there was a stir on the platform.
