Kanpur: The cold wave turns fatal with every passing day here. On January 06, as many as 25 persons died due to a heart attack and brain stroke as well.
Seventeen of these reportedly died even before they could be provided any immediate medical aid.

Patients should be protected from cold in this weather, doctors advise adding that everyone irrespective of age should keep wrapped in woolen clothes and try to stay indoors as much as possible for them.
Heart attacks in this wintry weather are not restricted only to the elderly, even teenagers have suffered heart attacks.
