Islamabad, Mar 25 (PTI) A Pakistani court on Monday ordered authorities to present jailed former premier Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on April 4 during the hearing of their appeal seeking bail in different cases.

District and Session Court judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case on the plea filed by the couple seeking bail in the cases about the forgery of receipts for Toshakhana gifts, while Khan had also filed a petition to seek bail in a May 9 violence case as well.

CAIRO, March 23 (Xinhua) -- United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing with the Gaza Strip, reiterating his call for an immediate ceasefire in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

"Now more than ever, it's time for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. It is time to silence the guns," the UN chief told a press conference at the border crossing.

25 March 2024; MEMO: The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip will end with Jews settling north of the Gaza Strip, the head of the Knesset’s National Security Committee said on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.

“Israel must end the war when Jews settle in the entire northern Gaza Strip,” Zvika Fogel told the Israeli public broadcaster KAN.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's capital market remained resilient in 2023, with the market size growing 5.6 percent to 3.8 trillion ringgit (800 billion U.S. dollars) in 2023 from 3.6 trillion ringgit in 2022, official data showed Monday.

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) said in a statement that the increase was driven by the growth of total equity market capitalization and bonds and sukuk outstanding.

Sukuk is an Islamic financial certificate that complies with Islamic religious law commonly known as Sharia.

SINGAPORE, Mac 25 (NNN-XINHUA) – Former Singapore transport minister, S. Iswaran, was charged in the State Courts with eight additional counts of obtaining valuable things, as a public servant, according to a statement issued by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), today.

Iswaran received valuables with a total value of nearly 19,000 Singapore dollars (14,000 U.S. dollars) from businessman, Lum Kok Seng, between Nov, 2021 and Nov, 2022, the CPIB noted.

24 March 2024; MEMO: At least 19 Palestinians were killed and 23 others injured in an Israeli attack targeting civilians who were waiting for aid southeast of Gaza City, the Gaza Media Office stated on Saturday, Anadolu Agency reports.

“The Israeli occupation commits a massacre, killing 19 and injuring 23 civilians while thousands of citizens were waiting for flour and aid near Al-Kuwait roundabout,” the media office said in a statement.

25 March 2024; MEMO: Riot police fired teargas to push back hundreds of protesters marching on the Embassy of Israel in Amman on Sunday in protest at Israel’s latest storming of hospitals in Gaza and mounting civilian deaths, Reuters has reported. The Jordanian authorities had earlier deployed riot police to disperse demonstrators gathered in Al-Kalouti Mosque in the capital who were planning to march on the heavily fortified Israeli embassy nearby.

BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) -- China's relay satellite Queqiao-2 has successfully performed the near-moon braking procedure and entered its circumlunar orbit, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said on Monday.

After about 112 hours of flight, the satellite began to perform near-moon braking at a distance of about 440 km from the lunar surface at 12:46 a.m. (Beijing Time) on Monday and entered its circumlunar orbit smoothly 19 minutes later, said the CNSA.

24 March 2024; MEMO: More than 100 Israeli settlers forced their way into the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque complex on Sunday to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Purim, according to a Palestinian agency, Anadolu Agency reports.

In a statement, the Jordan-run Islamic Waqf Department, which oversees the holy sites in Jerusalem, said the settlers entered the site through the mosque’s al-Maghariba Gate under police protection.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) — Malaysia and Canada have shared diplomatic ties for nearly 66 years, and via the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), bilateral trade rose by 25 per cent.

Malaysia is also Canada’s country coordinator for Asean this year. Malaysia will be the Asean chair in 2025.

Canada’s Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development Minister Mary Ng said it is great to see some of the numbers.
