US says failed rocket attack targeted American troops in Syria

9 October 2022; MEMO: The US military said late on Saturday that unidentified forces fired a rocket at a compound in Syria hosting US troops and partnered local forces, but failed to cause any injuries or damage, Reuters reports.

The military, in a short statement, said the 107 mm rocket failed to impact anything inside the Rumalyn Landing Zone US compound in northeast Syria.

Syria Demands Immediate Withdrawal Of U.S. Forces

DAMASCUS, Oct 9 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian Foreign Ministry, yesterday, demanded the immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria.

In a statement, the ministry said, the U.S. presence in Syria was illegal and demanded an end to the U.S. support to the Kurdish-led militias, which the ministry said, served the U.S. interests in Syria.

U.S. Forces Steal 50 Tankers Of Syrian Oil In Hasakah Province

DAMASCUS, Oct 8 (NNN-SANA) – The U.S. forces, yesterday, sent 50 tankers of stolen oil from Syria’s north-eastern province of Hasakah, towards U.S. bases in neighbouring Iraq.

The oil tankers were sent to Iraq in batches, through the illegal al-Mahmoudiyeh crossing.

The state news agency said, the U.S. forces have intensified its theft of Syrian oil over the past few weeks, with the help of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

Syria regime seizes displaced people's farmland in Idlib

5 October 2022; MEMO: The Syrian regime of Bashar Al-Assad is continuing to seize farmland from families who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict, media sources have reported.

According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency and various other outlets, local sources in the north-western Syrian province of Idlib reported that Assad regime authorities are continuing to seize and expropriate land belonging to those who fled their homes during the ongoing 11-year conflict.

14 soldiers, civilians killed in southern Syrian province in Oct.: war monitor

DAMASCUS, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 14 people, mostly military personnel, have been killed in separate attacks in Syria's southern province of Daraa since the beginning of October, a war monitor reported on Wednesday.

Since Oct. 1, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented 20 security incidents that include attacks and assassinations, which have resulted in the killing of four civilians, eight soldiers, and two former rebel fighters who were reconciled with the authorities through peace deals.

Russia military carrier avoids collision with US drones in Syria

5 October 2022; MEMO: A Russian Antonov An-26 jet avoided a collision with two US drones in the northern airspace of Syria, Deputy Chief of the Russian Centre for Reconciliation, Oleg Yegorov, has announced.

Egorov said that "the so-called international anti-terror coalition led by the US continues to carry out illegal drone flights with combat equipment in the airspace of the Syrian Arab Republic," according to Russia's RT channel.

Victims in migrant boat rise to 102, search still underway off Syrian shore

DAMASCUS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- A total of 102 bodies have so far been found after a boat carrying illegal migrants capsized off the Syrian shore, while 40 others were still missing, a war monitor reported on Sunday.

Twenty people have been rescued by the Syrian authorities, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The boat, which was carrying up to 150 immigrants, set off from Lebanon on Tuesday and was heading toward Europe. It sank near the shore of the Syrian coastal city of Tartous on Thursday, according to Syrian official statements.

Syrian official says 73 dead after migrant boat sinks

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) — The death toll from a boat carrying migrants from Lebanon that sank in Syrian waters has risen to at least 73, state TV quoted Syria’s health minister as saying on Friday.

Syrian authorities said some family members of the victims have started crossing into Syria from neighboring Lebanon to help identify their loved ones and retrieve their bodies.
