17 May 2021; MEMO: International airlines suspended all flights to and from Israel's Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday as rockets fired by Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza hit targets in the vicinity of the airport, it has been reported.
The cancellation of flights has left Israel isolated. Only local airlines Israir and El Al are now operating out of Israel's sole international airport.
Israel has been bombing Gaza from the land, sea, and air since last Monday. The hundreds of dead and wounded include children, women, and men.
The Palestinian response to Israeli aggression in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem has been to fire rockets at vital facilities to put pressure on the occupation state to end its military offensive.
According to the flight schedule on Ben Gurion's website, there were 47 flights set to arrive at the airport on Monday. The canceled flights were scheduled to depart from Istanbul, Munich, Odesa, Dubai, Athens, Sofia, Tbilisi, Zurich, New York, Warsaw, Vienna, Bucharest, Kyiv, Chicago, London, and San Francisco.
