Kanpur: Was it a dowry death as the father claimed? Was the husband in a fit of anger killed his wife after heated arguments?
According to the reports, a man killed his wife with a spade in Kanpur Dehat district. It was later he approached the police station to tell the police to pick her body.
Bhognipur Circle Officer said the accused Ram Kumar, a street vendor came to the police station to ask the police to collect his 23-year-old wife Uma's body from the house.
It was further said the couple had argued with each other. Late Tuesday there ensued an argument over the issue of her wife going to her parental home.
When the arguments heightened the wife was reported to have attacked her husband with a brick. Enraged with this assault he hit her with a spade and as a result, she fell into an unconscious condition.
Her father Chandrapal told the police that she visited the house to attend a function. He also related that her husband had taken her two days earlier.
On Chandrapal's complaint of accusing the man and his mother, father and relatives of murdering his daughter the police filed a case. Meanwhile, it was reported that the accused Ram Kumar was sent to jail on Wednesday.
