In 2017, Samajwadi Party's Irfan Solanki registered his win on the assembly seat.
Irfan Solanki won from Aryanagar in 2007 and from Sisamau seat in 2012 & 2017.
Irfan Solanki defeated BJP's Suresh Awasthi by 5826 votes in year 2017.
Solanki registered as many as 73030 votes, and Awasthi received a total of 67204 votes.
In the last election, the Samajwadi Party and the Congress formed an alliance, which benefited Irfan Solanki.
His father, Haji Mushtaq Solanki, was a former MLA from the Aryanagar seat and also shared a close relationship with SP Patron Mulayam Singh.
Salil Vishnoi, the BJP's key candidate, has been fielded against SP MLA Irfan Solanki.
Salil Vishnoi a MLC, has earlier served as an MLA from the Aryanagar Assembly seat.
This particular assembly holds a majority of Muslim voters.
Following this, the seat has the highest proportion of general caste voters.
By fielding Salil Vishnoi, the BJP gives the SP MLA a tough competition.
From the Congress side, Haji Suhail Ahmed has been nominated for the seat.
Haji Suhail Ahmed and his supporters joined Congress after leaving SP.
His popularity as a three-time Councillor remains a strong point upon the seat.
When the Congress party declared his candidature, there was raised a stir in the SP camp as Ahmed has a sizeable Muslim voter base, thereby enhancing the SP MLA's complications.
Whereas, the AIMIM has selected Riya Siddiqui, President of AIMIM Women's Wing, will lower Muslim voter turnout, directly benefiting the BJP.
Nearly 84 thousand Muslim voters are reportedly enrol at the seat.
Besides there are 72 thousand Scheduled Caste voters and 32 thousand Brahmin voters.
Also, as many as12.50 thousand Vaish voters and approximately 16 thousand Punjabi & Sindhi voters stay in the constituency.
