Kanpur: A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men under the pretext of alcohol. According to the available reports, the accused intoxicated her before sexually assaulting the woman in Chakeri's Lal Bungalow area.
When the woman tried to protest, she was thrashed by the men. On hearing the noises, the local people gathered and informed the police about the horrible incident.
Upon reaching the spot the police arrested one of the accused. A search was launched to catch the other culprits.
The victim has been admitted to the hospital for the primary treatment.
DCP East Pramod Kumar told that when the police reached the spot they found a girl in an unconscious state. The police came I to action following information received from the locals. at the Lal Bangla Chowki under Chakeri Police Station.
On the basis of information disclosed by one of the accused, others were caught.
Kumar said that our team of female officers will record the statement of the victim on the basis of which action will be taken against the accused by registering an FIR.
