JERUSALEM, Jul 12 (NNN-PNA) – No political bloc in the Israeli regime could win a majority, in the 120-seat parliament, to form a new government, if elections were to be held today, according to the latest poll, published by state broadcaster, KAN.
The Likud Party, led by former Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, remains the most popular party, would earn 34 seats in parliament, followed by Yesh Atid, headed by current interim Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, with 23 seats, according to the poll.
The newly formed bloc, Blue and White – The New Hope, led by centrist Defence Minister, Benny Gantz, and the right-wing Justice Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, would clinch 14 seats, followed by the Religious Zionist Party with 10 seats, it showed.
Joint List and Ra’am, two parties representing Arab people in the country, would earn six and four seats, respectively.
After former Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, announced not running in the upcoming elections, his Yamina party would fail to pass the threshold to enter parliament, according to the poll.
Knesset, or parliament, voted to dissolve itself in late June, after the coalition government led by Bennett lost its majority in parliament, sending Israel to its fifth election, which is scheduled in Nov, in less than four years.
