India: Teacher's greed leads to fracture in hand of student

Kanpur: Questions are being raised on the working style of the government school here. A primary school teacher put a child's life at risk in the pursuit of free vegetables.

The teacher asked the innocent student to go over the terrace from the ceiling of the bathroom, but when the student refused, she scolded him. In some way, the innocent ascended onto the roof but slipped. His hand was broken.

Class 5 student Satyam of Udaipur village of Bheeter Gaon block was told by Shiksha Mitra Shanti, to go on the roof to bring a kind of vegetable. He broke his hand when he fell from the roof.

The school administration ignored the complaints of the family and drove them away. The family then complained to the Basic Education Officer Sujit Kumar Singh.

He said the matter is being investigated. If found guilty, strict action will be taken against the teacher.
