Moldovan President Sandu reveals pick for PM position

CHISINAU, July 30. /TASS/: Moldovan President Maia Sandu has signed an order nominating Natalia Gavrilitsa for the post of Prime Minister.

"Mrs. Natalia Gavrilitsa has been appointed as a candidate for Prime Minister," reads the document, published on the president’s website.

According to the presidential order, Gavrilitsa must submit the program and composition of the new Cabinet for approval by parliament.

Russia closely monitors wildfire situation in Turkey, senior diplomat says

MOSCOW, July 30. /TASS/: Russia is closely monitoring the wildfire situation in Turkey and is in constant touch with the country’s authorities, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told journalists on Friday.

"We are closely monitoring the situation. The Russian Federation, as you know, provided assistance to the Turkish authorities in order to help them cope with this disaster. Our equipment is deployed there, including Be-200 planes. We are in constant touch with the Turkish government," he said.

Covid-19: 4 billion shots injected worldwide

PARIS, July 30 (NNN-AGENCIES) — More than 4 billion doses of anti-Covid vaccines have been administered around the world, eight months after the vaccination drive started, according to latest count Thursday.

Global injections have slowed slightly: this fourth billion was reached in 30 days, while it took only 26 days to reach the previous one. The first and second billion were reached after about 140 and 40 days respectively.

Belarus leader would 'not hesitate' to invite Russian troops if needed

No toxic fallout from German chemical blast, official says

DUESSELDORF, July 30 (Reuters) - The fallout from Tuesday's fatal blast at an industrial estate in western Germany did not contain any toxic substances, an official from the regional environmental protection agency said on Friday.

Analysis of particles that fell on a residential area near the Chempark industrial estate in Leverkusen contained no dioxins or polychlorinated biphenyls, environmental protection official Ulrich Quass told a news briefing.
