LONDON, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- British police warned on Friday that press and social media speculation about the identities of the 39 people found dead in a lorry in Essex may hinder the investigation.

"This is a fast-moving investigation involving significant police resources dedicated to finding out the truth about what happened to the 39 people found dead in the lorry on Wednesday," said a statement by Deputy Chief Constable Pippa Mills of the Essex police on Friday evening.

BRUSSELS (AP) — The United States will send armored vehicles and combat troops into eastern Syria to keep oil fields from potentially falling into the hands of Islamic State militants, U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Friday.

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/: Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has assured that the application for pardon from Norwegian citizen Frode Berg convicted in Russia of spying will be considered, but it is more than likely that the document has not been received yet.

"[The petition for pardon] may have not been received yet, because that takes some time," he told reporters on Friday.

"When it is received in accordance with the established procedures, the [pardon] commission will consider it and submit its recommendation to the head of state," Peskov promised.

"We know that Sberbank is working hard to prevent these types of cybercrimes," he said.

MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/: A serviceman of the repair and maintenance base in the Chita Region shot eight soldiers dead and wounded two others, the Defense Ministry of Russia reported on Friday.

"At 6:20 p.m. local time on October 25, a serviceman of the repair and maintenance base stationed on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Region opened fire against his fellow servicemen from this service firearm during a change of the guard. As a result, eight servicemen were killed on the spot while two others received wounds of various severity," the ministry said in a statement.
