New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) Former finance minister Arun Jaitley was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of All India Institute of Medical Sciences here on Friday after he complained of breathlessness and restlessness but doctors said he is "haemodynamically stable".

A multidisciplinary team of doctors is supervising Jaitley's treatment, AIIMS said.

He was admitted to the hospital this morning and "at present, he is haemodynamically stable," it said in a statement.

A hemodynamically stable patient has a stable heart pump and good blood circulation.

New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) A Delhi court on Friday framed charges against expelled BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar for allegedly raping a minor in Unnao in 2017. 

District Judge Dharmesh Sharma also framed charges against Sengar's accomplice Shashi Singh for allegedly kidnapping the minor girl, who is presently admitted in AIIMS, Delhi.

New Delhi, Aug 8; GANASHAKTI: The leader of the Congress in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, said on Thursday that Kashmir has become like a "concentration camp" with additional troops deployment and snapped communication links, after the abrogation of provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution which accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) A Muslim party on Friday objected in the Supreme Court five-days-a-week hearing of the politically sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case in Ayodhya, saying it will "not be able to assist" the court if the hearing is "rushed through".

The submission was made by senior advocate Rajeev Dhavan, who is appearing for a Muslim party, when the Supreme Court commenced hearing on the fourth day in the case.

New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday strongly defended his government's decision to revoke provisions of Article 370 of the Constitution for Jammu and Kashmir, a section of state residents alleged the way it was done was "extremely undemocratic".

Some even claimed that the Centre just wanted to win lands and "not hearts of Kashmiris".

New Delhi, Aug 9 (PTI) The Delhi High Court on Friday declined to entertain a PIL seeking to stop the release of the film Batla House, which is slated to hit theatres on Independence Day, as the petitioner had not seen the movie.

"You (petitioner, his lawyers) have not seen the film. Out of trailer nothing can be done. Then why should we hear you," a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said.

NEW DELHI, Aug 8 (NNN-BERNAMA) — India expressing regret over Pakistan’s move to downgrade its diplomatic relations with the former over the Kashmir dispute has called on the country to review its decision.

Islamabad on Wednesday announced a series of steps following New Delhi’s repeal of Article 370, a special provision in the Indian constitution that allowed a degree of autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan asked India to withdraw its high commissioner in Islamabad and said it will not send its own high commissioner-designate to India.

New Delhi, Aug 6 : A petition was filed in the Supreme Court Tuesday challenging the Presidential order on Article 370 which revokes the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir.

The plea has been filed by advocate M L Sharma who claimed that the Presidential order was "illegal" as it was passed without taking consent from the state assembly.

Sharma is likely to mention his plea for urgent listing before the apex court on Wednesday.

New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) A Hindu body on Tuesday strongly pitched in the Supreme Court for control and management of the entire disputed 2.77 acre land in the politically and religiously sensitive case of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute at Ayodhya.

Nirmohi Aakhara, one of the leading parties in the case, asserted its claim over the disputed site where the medieval structure was demolished on December 6, 1992, and said that Muslims have not been allowed to enter the place since 1934.

New Delhi, Aug 6 (PTI) Tourists and Kashmiri locals who reached Delhi on Tuesday appeared relieved at being out of the uncertainty sweeping the Valley but expressed their angst at the situation there, with some saying it is akin to the Stone Age without lines of communication.

They also rued the heavy security deployment in the Valley as tension persisted in the region over revoking of the provisions of Article 370, which gave special powers to the state.
